Khadija Magardie – Executive Producer

Khadija Magardie is an award-winning journalist, documentary director, line producer and script-writer.

For the past 15 years she was worked in a variety of South African and international media – including the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), PBS Frontline’s website, BBC Factual, CNN.com and Al Jazeera English.

Her writing has been published in various international publications including The Times, the BBC Focus on Africa magazine, Marie Claire, Al Ahram Weekly and The Guardian.

She has produced documentaries for Ochre Moving Pictures, for the SABC’s award-winning investigative documentary strand ‘Special Assignment’, and for Al Jazeera English, where she was a senior producer. In 2002 she won the General News category of the CNN African Journalist of the Year competition.

Magardie studied Documentary Directing at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield, and has a postgraduate degree in Political Science from the University of the Witwatersrand.
