Yunus Vally – Creative Director

Yunus Vally is a South African designer and filmmaker.

He has worked on several major television productions as an art director and creative director.

With his art background he painted banners for various political organisations and through design he became involved in work for Adult Literacy and the South African Council for Higher Education.

He moved to Nambia for a while and worked for development organisations as a designer and archivist.

On his return to South Africa he moved from hand drawn work to digital media. He has designed opening sequences, logos and various digital media for some of South Africa’s leading productions.

In 2008 he directed his first feature, ‘The Glow of White Women’ which premiered at the Berlin Biennale.  It also screened at HotDocs in Canada the same year. The film has won several awards including the IFFLA Best Documentary Feature

Yunus studied Fine Art at University of Durban Westville in South Africa
